During my exhibition at Westbund Art Fair, Yuan Yuan Jin, director of E.Scape, saw my work and came a few weeks later to attend the opening of Letters from the Mists at Lin’s Mansion on Gulangyu Island. She invited me to do a residency at E.Scape in Shanghai the following spring, based on the theme of home. I asked the photographer Guo Guozhu to join me....
