For the 2022 season, Villa Arconati FAR hosts a new major solo exhibition by Angela Lyn, a Swiss artist of Anglo-Chinese origin. In her project On the Edge of Time, organised by the Augusto Rancilio Foundation and curated by Li Zhenhua, the artist creates a resonance between her life and the traces of history present in the 17th-century palazzo. Angela Lyn’s site-specific installations combining painting, drawing, sculpture, text and video work take visitors on a cumulative journey throughout 25 rooms of the villa. Re-naming the rooms as the basis for her poetic reconstruction of historical and personal narratives, the artist weaves the past into the present, subtly dismantling our linear perceptions of time and place. With this expansive project Angela Lyn creates a contemporary synergy with the baroque architecture while underlining existential questions we are facing now and in the future.
